Bethenny Frankel: Natural Foods Chef
November 25, 2007
Bethenny is a well known natural foods chef with her own website at bethennybakes.com and a video series she makes available on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/bethennybake.
Her latest video is our current ‘Featured Food Video‘ and since this tis the season for leftovers it’s an appropriate choice. Her charisma and excellent recipes will keep you entertained and who knows… maybe even wearing the same sized pants come January 1st when we start our new diets!
The video below is another appropriate video for any time!

Two Blonde Guys Cook the Turkey
November 22, 2007
Two blonde guys prepare a Thanksgiving turkey just like you’d expect two blonde women to prepare a turkey! (Just kidding blondes!)
Ten Minute Cooking School - Slow Cooked Pork
November 19, 2007
Robert Rodriguez teaches us how to cook Puerco Pibil (aka Slow Cooked Pork). Video is
less then 6 minutes and interesting to watch even if you don’t care (or need) to learn how to cook Puerco Pibil.
I’m making this tomorrow and I can’t wait!

What’s the point of worrying about a diet with Thanksgiving less then a week away? : )
Bold Turkeys
November 15, 2007
I was taken aback by the sheer bravery of this flock of male turkeys in our backyard this morning. Do they realize what time of year it is? Are they completely unaware that they look like a quick way to save? Wild turkey from backyard = $25 + gas + time.

These brave guys could feed the kids for weeks! There were two more out of view. Very tempting….
You don’t suppose it was a trap designed to catch one of us do you?
Bold Food Restaurants
November 14, 2007
Sometimes you go to a restaurant with the not-so-lofty goal of avoiding starvation, other times you go to enjoy scrumptious food with loved ones, friends, or for business. When we want the good stuff we occasionally look for a restaurant we haven’t ventured to before in the hopes of finding satisfaction.
We’ve all had those all-to-rare experiences where are expectations are exceeded and we want to share our pleasure with as many people as possible.
Our BoldFood Restaurants section will shine the light on places you can go to enjoy memorable bold food. We’re open to visitor input, as well as, requests from restaurants.

The picture? Just one I found online. If the chef is as bold as this pair then it’s some bold food for sure!
New Food Buzz
November 14, 2007
BuzzFeed is a site I just discovered that finds the hottest sites, based on recent clicks, and sorts them accordingly. They also offer 3rd party websites, like BoldFood, a widget that displays a small sampling of the sites with all the buzz. We selected their ‘Food’ category and set this widget on our homepage to test it out.
We’ll see if it’s worthy of remaining a part of the BoldFood website.Your feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Murphy’s Ice Cream and Their Blog
November 9, 2007
Murphy’s Ice Cream is the best tasting ice cream I never tasted! Just 5 minutes on their Website and I’m convinced I need to fly over to Ireland and give it a try right away.

Ireland’s Best
Brothers Sean and Kieran Murphy started Murphys Ice Cream in Kerry Ireland in 2000, with the goal of making the best ice cream in the world. If pictures are worth a thousand taste buds then they may have succeeded. If you’re on the left-side of the pond as I am then you’ll need to fly to Ireland to try it out because they’re keeping it to themselves and their neighbors for now.Three things about this Irish ice cream company struck me:
- Their original mission to create the best ice cream in the world is clearly conveyed in the excellent photos on their main website and their blog.
- Sharing their recipes for all to see on their blog is merciful for those of us across this suddenly cruel ocean.
- They’ve managed to pack their Murphy’s personality into just a few pages for the world to see online. Not only does their ice cream look addictive, but they look like the kind of people who can make a living making (and eating) ice cream without pissing us off.
For their recipes check out their blog: Ice Cream Ireland.
Cheers Sean and Kieran! I’ll be there soon enough to try out your ice cream.

Just look at these brothers. They need a vacation!
Ratatouille the movie
November 6, 2007
I watched Ratatouille with our 5 year old Colin months ago. He and I both loved the movie! It’s an amazing animated story about a rat

who had a passion for cooking and through a series of chance circumstances ended up being the head chef of a famous award winning French restaurant. I recommend the movie to everyone at any age, with or without children.
